Alison is an experienced training professional who provides expertise in people and management development, leadership skills, and facilitation. Alison has a BA (Hons) in Economics and Sociology and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development. She is a NLP Business Practitioner and Master, holds NVQ D32 (Assessor) and D33 (Internal Quality Assurer), and is qualified to the British Psychological Society certificate level B.
Graham has worked with a range of public and private sector clients providing coaching, team development and change management programmes. He has delivered extensively across sectors using the ILM framework particularly at Levels 3 and 5.
Graham is an experienced Director, Chief Fire Officer and Chief Executive, combining strategic leadership with a solid understanding of governance, financial control and political acuity over the past 32 years.
He has broad public sector experience and a record of delivering service improvements through a sustained period of austerity and budget cuts. He has delivered innovative solutions using leading-edge technology to improve business efficiency, whilst maintaining financial discipline and improving key performance indicators. Experienced in developing and nurturing collaboration and partnership within a diverse portfolio of stakeholders having disparate, and political, objectives and priorities.
Howard has held senior operational roles across the UK manufacturing sector for over 25 years, formatively in the automotive sector and latterly in other industry sectors. In this time he has a proven track record of delivering bottom line profitability coupled with high levels of quality and customer service.
Along with his Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience, Howard is a qualified Trainer, NVQ Assessor, Coach and a Fellow of Manufacturing Management from Cranford University. His consultancy work is based on taking a view on the end to end value stream and engaging the team to develop data driven solutions to add further sustained value going forward. He understands the impact of waste on Quality, Service and Bottom Line.
Alongside Julie's role as Managing Director, she is an experienced training consultant and personal development coach who specialises in people development and life skills. Julie has considerable experience in the design and delivery of a variety of workshops to enhance the skills, knowledge and attitude at all levels within the business environment. These include team building, team leadership, management development, personal awareness, stress management, executive coaching and mentoring.
As a skilled facilitator and people developer, Julie uses a variety of tools and techniques to enable individuals and companies to meet their full potential. These include NLP, accelerated learning, and other inspirational and dynamic learning approaches.
Julie's style is fun, energetic, practical and motivating. She ensures that whatever individuals learn that it is applicable to improving their work and personal life.
Marcia is an enthusiastic and highly experienced senior HR professional with over 26 years operational experience.
Marcia has a broad range of generalist HR experience gained within the private and public sector with particular expertise in organisational and learning development. She has a track record of delivering a range of successful HR initiatives such as introducing performance management systems, the design and delivery of management development interventions and managing change programmes.
As an experienced people manager, together with her HR knowledge, Marcia is a strong coach and facilitator. Using the Insights Discovery concept she is able to work with teams and individuals to improve both communication and performance.
Marcia is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She is a qualified Work Place Mediator and holds a post graduate Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Organisational Development and Design. Marcia is an Insights Discovery Practitioner and is British Psychology Level A and B accredited.
Paula is a talented and highly experienced senior HR professional with over 25 years of experience holding senior roles for large organisations in different business sectors.
Paula has a broad range of HR expertise and a great track record in delivering a range of successful HR programmes and projects including employee engagement, change management, management development, graduate and apprenticeship programmes, coaching, mentoring, recruitment and selection. Paula has also successfully delivered major HR operational projects including organisational design and restructuring, TUPE, mergers and acquisitions.
Paula is commercially astute and a trusted HR business partner. She has excellent organisational and leadership skills and is a strong people coach/mentor.
Paula is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is qualified to post graduate level holding a Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management. Paula holds British Psychology Society Level B accreditation and is Myers Briggs Type Indicator Step I and Step II qualified. In addition, Paula is also qualified to OPQ32 Level B.
Emma has been working as a Facilitator and Trainer since 2000. This has been for a variety of companies including City Challenge, Dunnhumby, RSA, Said Business School, Alstom Engineering, Mars, La Tasca and The Savoy Group. She has provided training in Management and Leadership programmes, Presentation Skills, Effective Communication Skills and Team Building. The Team Building has come in various guises ranging from outdoor treasure hunts and outdoor building activities, to karaoke days, all the way up to putting on a full scale musical production in a day!
Emma is also a qualified practitioner in Myers Briggs (MBTI), a personality profile designed to measure psychological preferences. She has a refreshing and personal approach to running workshops and enjoys leaving a group enlightened, enthused and excited about what they've learned.
Helen is a performance improvement consultant and business coach with over 20 years' experience in building and delivering bespoke training solutions. Her training is designed to be interactive and challenging and to have action-oriented outcomes. She is a qualified practitioner in SPIN, Situational Leadership and DISC.
Helen's style is energetic and pragmatic, always with a solution focus identifying what can be done to improve performance and confidence.
James believes that all training should be enjoyable, as well as practical. He is a professional writer who has written around 150 books and also edited a specialist magazine for ten years. He graduated in Modern Languages from Oxford University and went on to take a PhD, then qualified as a trainer with the ITD while working for the Civil Service in the 1980s. He has run writing and other courses for more than 30 years, and continues to work as a journalist and author alongside his training activities.
Ken is a highly experienced international consultant and trainer specialising in Management Development, Team Building, Interpersonal Communication, NVQ, ISO 9001 and Psychometric Assessment. His last corporate position was HR and Training Director of Chantrey Vellacott DFK, which he left in 2002 to pursue his own business interests.
He has been successfully delivering coaching and training throughout the UK, Middle East and Europe since 1985. Clients span several industrial sectors and include Agco Corp, British Telecommunications, Delphi Automotives, UK Home & Foreign Offices, Nokia Siemens Systems, and Texas Instruments.
Recent comments from workshop participants have praised Ken for his humour, enthusiasm, depth of knowledge, empathy and interactive style.
Paul has 16 years of project and programme management experience gained across a number of sectors primarily focussed on employee engagement and learning and development.
Paul's formative project management skills and experience were gained at Unipart, one of Europe's largest logistics and consultancy operations. Whilst there, Paul worked as both a Project and Programme Manager. He was responsible for leading a number of high profile projects ranging in size from £10k through to £5 million, working with clients such as Vodaphone, Shell, Wedgwood Ceramics and the Adult Learning Inspectorate.
More recently, Paul has been Head of the Project Management Office at a leading Learning and development organisation, responsible for the management of a team of project managers and the delivery of the organisation's portfolio of projects.
Paul is committed to the profession of Project Management and is an active member of the APM (Association for Project Management). Paul is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner and holds the APMP qualification through the APM. He is an authorised trainer for both PRINCE2 and the APM. He also holds the advanced practitioner level qualification for the APMG Managing Successful Programmes.
Paul is a strong communicator and comfortable operating with people from all levels of an organisation. Paul favours a facilitative approach to training and by drawing upon his considerable industry experience, Paul makes his training events mirror the real world thus helping delegates to visualise how they can apply the theory to their own workplace.
Sian Starr is an experienced interpersonal skills trainer and is dedicated to delivering high quality courses. Her training career started with Pricewaterhouse Coopers where she was responsible for providing interpersonal skills training for all support staff. Her training style encourages participation by using a variety of training techniques. This ensures all delegates benefit from her courses and are able to transfer their learning to the workplace. She creates a relaxed atmosphere to facilitate discussion and will guide delegates to come up with their own ideas and solutions.
At Jewel we work with carefully selected Training Consultants who specialise in a range of topics and styles. This allows us to deliver excellent training and development across a full range of subjects, and at all levels of an organisation. They are selected to join Jewel based on the following criteria:
- Past experience of the subjects, and excellent client testimonials and feedback.
- Qualifications - we expect all Training Consultants to have adult learning and/or teaching qualifications.
- Ethics and values which mirror those of Jewel.
- The variety of delivery modes and styles they offer, for example use of accelerated learning, scenario planning, practical activities, certified profiling practitioner, skills practitioner.
- Relevant coaching qualifications, such as the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Workplace Coaching.
- ILM approved trainers – to achieve this Training Consultants complete the Jewel verification process. This involves lesson plan sampling, observations of workshop delivery, feedback from delegates and clients.
